Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network 124 Manual Setup If you prefer, you can enter manually the details of the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the procedure. 1 Enter the access point's SSID (network name). [Edit] > Enter the network name using the keyboard screen (A 120) > [OK] 2 Select the authentication method. • If you selected [Open], touch [WEP] and continue the procedure, or touch [No encryption] and continue with the procedure to configure the IP address assignment (A 121). 3 Select the WEP index or encryption method, depending on the selected authentication mode. • [Shared Key]/[WEP]: Touch one of the buttons to select the WEP index. • [WPA-PSK]/[WPA2-PSK]: Touch [TKIP] or [AES]. 4 Enter the encryption key (password). [Edit] > Enter the password using the keyboard screen (A 120) > [OK] 5 Continue with the procedure to configure the IP address assignment (A 121). NOTES Valid passwords vary depending on the encryption method. 64-bit WEP encryption: 5 ASCII characters or 10 hexadecimal characters. 128-bit WEP encryption: 13 ASCII characters or 26 hexadecimal characters. AES / TKIP encryption: 8 to 63 ASCII characters or 64 hexadecimal characters. * Note: ASCII characters include the numbers 0 to 9, the letters a to z and A to Z and some punctuation marks and special symbols. Hexadecimal characters comprise the numbers 0 to 9 and the letters a to f and A to F.
