Syntax isis password [hmac-md5] password [level-1 | level-2] To delete a password, use the no isis password [password] [level-1 | level-2] command. Parameters encryption-type hmac-md5 password level-1 level-2 (OPTIONAL) Enter 7 to encrypt the password using DES. (OPTIONAL) Enter the keywords hmac-md5 to encrypt the password using MD5. Assign the interface authentication password. (OPTIONAL) Independently configures the authentication password for Level 1. The router acts as a station router for Level 1 routing. This setting is the default. (OPTIONAL) Independently configures the authentication password for Level 2. The router acts as an area router for Level 2 routing.
