Replacing the Memory Modules, Removing the Hinge Cover, Keyboard

3. Remove the memory module from the connector labeled "DIMM A" which is located underneath the keyboard: a. Turn the computer topside up, and remove the hinge cover (see Removing the Hinge Cover). b. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard). 1 securing clips (2) c. Use your fingertips to carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory module connector until the module pops up. d. Remove the module from the connector at a 45-degree angle. Replacing the Memory Module(s) NOTE: If a memory module is not installed properly, the computer does not boot properly. No error message indicates this failure. 1. Ground yourself and install the new memory module: a. Align the notch in the module edge connector with the tab in the connector slot. b. Slide the module firmly into the slot at a 45-degree angle, and rotate the module down until it clicks into place. If you do not feel the click, remove the module and reinstall it.
