ENGLISH (2) Auto decode surround mode settings • The auto decode surround mode can be used for multi-channel and 2-channel stereo playback in the Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, and DTS surround modes, according to the input signal's format. • Here we describe the 2-channel decode mode settings for setting whether to play 2-channel sources as such in the 2-channel mode or in the multi-channel mode, as well as the settings for the Dolby Pro Logic II mode. PLII (Pro Logic II) mode • Even 2-channel sources undergo Dolby Pro Logic II processing and are played in the multi-channel mode. When this mode is selected in the auto decode surround mode, DVD, BS digital and other multi-channel sources are played as such with multiple channels, and CDs and other 2channel sources also automatically undergo Dolby Pro Logic II processing and are played in the multi-channel mode. ✽ In the Dolby Pro Logic II mode, "CINEMA", "MUSIC" or "DOLBY PL" (Pro Logic) can be selected and set. (See page 42 for setting instructions.) Remote control unit ✽ This can be selected when the digital input consists of no signal, PCM signals, Dolby Digital 2-channel signals, as well as when the analog input is selected. NOTE: • The 2-channel decode mode cannot be set when Dolby Digital 5.1-channel signals or DTS signals are being input. • The 2-channel decode mode is stored separately for the DVD, TV/DBS and V.AUX modes.
