AE metering If you press OK when the AE Metering option is highlighted in the Capture menu, the AE Metering sub-menu displays. This sub-menu allows you to specify which region of the scene the camera will use to measure and calculate the exposure. The following table describes the AE Metering settings. The default setting is Center-Weighted. The AE Metering setting resets to Center-Weighted when you turn the camera off. Center-Weighted The camera uses the center half of the scene region to measure and calculate exposure.
