Display assembly To remove and disassemble the display assembly, use these procedures and illustrations. Full hinge-up displays are not available as spare parts. Spare parts for displays are available only at the subcomponent level. Before removing the display panel, follow these steps: 1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 37). 2. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 37). 3. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see Battery on page 39). Remove the display assembly: NOTE: All flat cable connectors are covered with a piece of Mylar to prevent accidental disconnection. Be sure to replace this Mylar during reassembly. NOTE: You can remove the bezel, display panel, camera module, and ambient light sensor without removing the entire display assembly from the computer. 1. You can remove the bezel with the display assembly connected to the computer. To remove the bezel: a. Use your finger to release the bottom edge of the bezel (1) from the display assembly. b. From the outside of the bezel, release the top, left, and right edges of the bezel (2) from the display assembly. c. Remove the display bezel (3) from the display assembly. Display assembly 55

Remove the display assembly:
NOTE:

NOTE:
You can remove the bezel, display panel, camera module, and ambient light sensor without
removing the entire display assembly from the computer.

You can remove the bezel with the display assembly connected to the computer. To remove the
bezel:
a.
Use your finger to release the bottom edge of the bezel

From the outside of the bezel
