Adjusting the preseparation roller tension If you are experiencing multi-feeds or document jams, it may be necessary to adjust the pre-separation roller tension. 1. Remove the separation module by following the steps described previously in "Replacing the separation module and tires". 2. Locate the spring on the separation module. 3. Lift the spring from the holder and move it to the left or right as desired to adjust the tension. 4. Adjusting the pre-
separation roller
tension
If you are experiencing multi-feeds or document jams, it may be
necessary to adjust the pre-separation roller tension.
1.
Remove the separation module by following the steps described
previously in “Replacing the separation module and tires”.
2.
Locate the spring on the separation module.
3.
Lift the spring from the holder and move it to the left or right as
desired to adjust the tension.
4.
When finished, reinsert the separation module by aligning the tabs
with the slots and snapping it into position.
