Touch the static-protective package that contains the new hot-swap hard disk drive to any unpainted surface on the outside of the storage product. Then, take the new hot-swap hard disk drive out of the package. Note: Do not touch the circuit board on the hard disk drive. 5. Check the hot-swap hard-disk-drive status LEDs to ensure that the hard disk drive is operating correctly. You might have to restart the storage product for the newly installed hard disk drive to be recognized. See "Hot-swap-drive status LEDs" on page 27.
