8.2 Selecting Full Disk Encryption Security Options The Full Disk Encryption feature provides the ability to encrypt data and use disk-based key management for your data security solution. This solution provides protection to the data in the event of theft or loss of physical drives. This section describes how to enable, change, or disable drive security, and how to import a foreign configuration. 8.2.1 Enabling Drive Security Perform the following steps to enable drive security. To do this, you create a security key identifier, security key, and (optional) passphrase. 1. Select the Physical View tab in the left panel of the MegaRAID Storage Manager window, and click a controller icon. 2. Right-click on the controller icon to display the menu of operations available. 3. Select Change Drive Security->Enable, as shown in Figure 8.13. Note: You can also access the drive security settings menu by clicking the Operations menu on the menu bar and selecting Change Drive Security->Enable. 8-18 Configuration
