1. Select the Physical View tab in the left panel of the MegaRAID Storage Manager window, and select the icon of an unused drive. For each drive, the screen displays the port number, enclosure number, slot number, drive state, drive capacity, and drive manufacturer. 2. In the right panel of the MegaRAID Storage Manager window, select the Operations tab. 3. Select Make Dedicated Hotspare or Make Global Hotspare, as shown in Figure 8.28. Figure 8.28 Creating a Global Hot Spare 4. If you selected Make Dedicated Hotspare, select a drive group from the list that appears in the right frame.
