Reference Manual for the Model FVS318 Broadband ProSafe VPN Firewall The Router Status menu provides a limited amount of status and usage information. From the Main Menu of the browser interface, under Maintenance, select Router Status to view the status screen, shown in Figure 7-1. This screen shows the following parameters: Table 7-1. Menu 3.2 - Router Status Fields Field System Name Firmware Version WAN Port MAC Address IP Address DHCP IP Subnet Mask Domain Name Servers (DNS) LAN Port MAC Address IP Address IP Subnet Mask DHCP Description This field displays the Host Name assigned to the firewall in the Basic Settings menu. This field displays the firewall firmware version. These parameters apply to the Internet (WAN) port of the firewall. This field displays the Ethernet MAC address being used by the Internet (WAN) port of the firewall. This field displays the IP address being used by the Internet (WAN) port of the firewall. If no address is shown, the firewall cannot connect to the Internet. If set to None, the firewall is configured to use a fixed IP address on the WAN. If set to Client, the firewall is configured to obtain an IP address dynamically from the ISP This field displays the IP Subnet Mask being used by the Internet (WAN) port of the firewall. This field displays the DNS Server IP addresses being used by the firewall. These addresses are usually obtained dynamically from the ISP. These parameters apply to the Local (WAN) port of the firewall. This field displays the Ethernet MAC address being used by the Local (LAN) port of the firewall. This field displays the IP address being used by the Local (LAN) port of the firewall. The default is 192.168.0.1 This field displays the IP Subnet Mask being used by the Local (LAN) port of the firewall. The default is 255.255.255.0 If set to OFF, the firewall will not assign IP addresses to local PCs on the LAN. If set to ON, the firewall is configured to assign IP addresses to local PCs on the LAN. 7-2 Managing Your Network M-10146-01
