Option Motion detection AF assist Digital zoom Sound settings Action control response Auto off The Setup Menu Description A When the camera detects camera shake or subject movement at the time of shooting, it automatically increases ISO sensitivity and shutter speed to reduce blurring. The default setting is Auto. The r icon lights in green when the camera detects camera shake and increases shutter speed. • When using certain shooting modes or settings, motion is not detected. In this case the r icon is not displayed. E74 When set to Auto (default setting), the AF-assist illuminator (A31) lights when shooting in dark surroundings to help the camera focus. • The illuminator has a range of about 3.5 m (11 ft) at the maximum wide-angle position and about 2.0 m (6 ft 6 in.) at the maximum telephoto position. • Even if Auto is selected, the AF-assist illuminator may not light depending on the position of the focus area or the scene mode that is selected. E75 When set to On (default setting), the digital zoom is enabled if the zoom button g (i) is pressed when optical zoom is set at the maximum telephoto zoom position (A29). • When using certain shooting modes or settings, the digital zoom cannot be used simultaneously.
