__ Lengthening patterns at the same stitch density The pattern length in the decorative-stitch pro grams 40 to 48 and 50 can be varied, while the stitch density remains the same. The pattern can be varied in length from 2.0 to 90mm. When a pat tern is sewn with short stitches, its maximum length is limited (Fig. 1). Indicated below are the maximum and minimum pattern lengths for various stitch lengths.
