Tip: The beginning of the word after the space is changed to upper/lower case by the entry field. You can change the shift by pressing . Adding a Word to the T9 Database If a word you want to enter does not display as an option when you are using T9 Text Input, you can add it to the database. To add a word to the database: 1. Switch to Alphabet mode (see "Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 46). 2. Type the word using the multi-tap method. 3. Switch back to T9 (see "Selecting a Character Input Mode" on page 46). For more information about T9 Text Input, visit their web site at www.T9.com. Using Smart Punctuation "Smart punctuation" is available using in T9 mode. It's a quick and easy way to type e-mail domains, possessive forms and contractions. When you press , T9 displays a period. However, as you continue to type, T9 determines the appropriate mark based on your word database. For example, to type,"It's easy." Press . Entering Symbols and Numbers
To enter symbols, select the
SYMBOL
mode. (See “Selecting
a Character Input Mode” on page 46.) To enter a symbol:

In a text entry field highlight current selected mode, and
press

3.
Find the character you want and press the corresponding
key (1~9) with each symbol.
