Useful adjustment settings Closed caption • Your TV is equipped with an internal closed caption decoder. Closed caption is the system which allows you to view conversations, narration, and sound effects in TV programs and home videos as subtitles on your Display. • Digital Closed Caption which is new service on Digital TV programs allow broadcaster to change caption size and font style and so on. "ENG"(English) or "SPA"(Spanish) or "FRA"(French) or other language codes will be displayed on the screen. • Not all programs and videos offer closed caption. Please look for the "N" symbol to ensure that captions will be shown. • "CC1" or "CC2" displays subtitles of TV dramas and news programs while allowing a full view of the picture. • "Text1" or "Text2" superimposes on the picture other information (e.g. TV guide, weather) that is independent of the TV in progress. 1 Press CC. • Present Closed caption information displays. 2 Press CC while the Closed caption information is still on the screen. • You can sequentially select a closed caption service which you prefer. ANALOG-A Air 2 Audio : MONO CC : 1/2 CC1 Closed caption information • Depending on the signal, information such as 1/4 or 1/2 will appear. 1/2 shows the first of two services. Example: If a program has three services(Digital CC(ENG), CC1 and Text1), closed caption toggles like below. 1/3 ENG 2/3 CC1 3/3 Text1 OFF • If selected service has gone and there are the other services, the other service will be selected temporarily and service name on the screen will be displayed with round brackets "( )". Examples: If digital CC has gone after a program has two services(Digital CC(ENG) and CC1), closed caption information will be change like below. 1/2 ENG 1/1 CC1 NOTE • See page 75 to 77 for the detailed closed caption settings. • When using Twin Picture functions (see page 87), Closed Caption on the program of the active screen will be displayed. • When using Freeze functions, closed caption will not be displayed on the right screen (still image). • When the program contains no closed caption, "- -" displays in the closed caption information. • If the language code, e.g."ENG", is not found on Digital TV programs, "- -" will be shown. • Four kinds of closed caption service(CC1, CC2, Text1, Text2) are available.
