Balancingthebuttonhole On some kinds of fabrics, there may be a difference inthedensityofthestitchesonthe rightortheleftsideofthebuttonhole. Thisiseasilyadjustedbyturningthebalance knob (1),inthecenterofthestitchlengthdialto balancethedensityofthestitching. A very slight turn of the dial will produce a noticeablechange. • If the stitches on the right side of the buttonhole ( I ) aretooopen,turnthebalance dialslightlytotheright,untilthedensityofthe stitchesincreases. • Ifthestitchesontheleftsideofthebuttonhole ( I I )aretooopen,turnthebalanceslightlyto the left, until the density of the stitches increases. After the buttonhole has been madeand the balancehasbeen altered,return thebalance dial back to its neutral position after all the buttonholesonthegarmenthavebeensewn. 70 Enfilage de la machine 1. Placez la bobine ou la fusette sur le porte-bobine.Bloquez-la bobineàl'aide del'étrier. 2. Levez le pied presseur et tournez le volant vers vous jusqu'à ce que le releveurdefilatteignesapositionlaplus haute. 3. Tirez le fil et passez-le premièrement dans la fente inférieure du guide-fil et ensuite par la rainure supérieure, de la gauche vers la droite, faisant le tour (fig.1). 4. Passez l e fil dans l'autre guide-fil, l'enfilant par-dessous et ensuite vers la gaucheetpar-dessusleguide.(fig.2). 5. Passez le fil autour de la tension, de façon qu'il reste entre les disques de tension(fig.3). 6. Tirez le fil doucement vers le haut en levant le ressort (fig.4), de façon à permettrequelefilglisseverslededans duprotecteur(fig.5). 7. Passezlefildanslereleveurdefil,selon l'illustration(fig.6). 23

Balancingthebuttonhole
On some kinds of fabrics, there may be a
difference inthedensityofthestitchesonthe
rightortheleftsideofthebuttonhole.
Thisiseasilyadjustedbyturningthebalance
knob
,inthecenterofthestitchlengthdialto
balancethedensityofthestitching.
A very slight turn of the dial will produce a
noticeablechange.
• If
the
stitches
on the
right
side of
the
buttonhole
aretooopen,turnthebalance
dialslightlytotheright,untilthedensityofthe
stitchesincreases.
• Ifthestitchesontheleftsideofthebuttonhole
aretooopen,turnthebalanceslightlyto
the left, until the density of the
stitches
increases.
After the buttonhole has been madeand the
balancehasbeen altered,return thebalance
dial back to its neutral position after all the
buttonholesonthegarmenthavebeensewn.

1. Placez
la bobine ou la fusette sur le
porte-bobine.Bloquez-la bobineàl'aide
del'étrier.
2. Levez le pied presseur et tournez le
volant vers vous jusqu'à ce que le
releveurdefilatteignesapositionlaplus
haute.
3. Tirez le fil et passez-le premièrement
dans la fente inférieure du guide-fil et
ensuite par la rainure supérieure, de la
gauche vers la droite, faisant le tour
(fig.1).

Passez le fil dans l'autre guide-fil,
l'enfilant par-dessous et ensuite vers la
gaucheetpar-dessusleguide.(fig.2).
5.
Passez le fil autour de la tension, de
façon qu'il reste entre les disques de
tension(fig.3).
6.
Tirez le fil doucement vers le haut
en
levant le ressort (fig.4), de façon à
permettrequelefilglisseverslededans
duprotecteur(fig.5).
7.
Passezlefildanslereleveurdefil,selon
l'illustration(fig.6).
