To prevent the Intelligent Key from being left inside the trunk, make sure you carry the key with you and then close the trunk. Do not pull the door handle before pushing the door handle request switch. The door will be unlocked but will not open. Release the door handle once and pull it again to open the door. SPA2009 SPA2003 Operating range for engine start function The operating range for starting the engine inside the vehicle is shown in the illustration. If the Intelligent Key is on the instrument panel, rear parcel shelf, inside the glove box or door pocket, or the corner of interior compartment, it may not be possible to start the engine. If the Intelligent Key is near the door or door glass outside the vehicle, it may be possible to start the engine. DOOR LOCKS/UNLOCKS PRECAUTION Do not push the door handle request switch with the Intelligent Key held in your hand as illustrated. The close distance to the door handle will cause the Intelligent Key system to have difficulty recognizing that the Intelligent Key is outside the vehicle.
