Supported RAID Types RAID 10 This dual-level RAID type is created by using two or more equalsized RAID 1 arrays to create a RAID 0. Both read and write performance are improved due to array striping. However, the performance improvement costs additional storage space due to the mirroring of the arrays. Spanned Volume A spanned volume is created by joining, or concatenating, two or more disk drives. The drives do not have to be of equal capacity and are connected end-to-end. A spanned volume offers no redundancy and no performance advantage over a single drive. D-4
