(3) Remove the two screws (c). (4) Remove the contact sensor (d). Handling the contact sensor. Be careful not to scratch or soil the glass surface of the contact sensor. Any such scratches or dirty marks may lead to image defects, such as vertical streaks, etc., on the scanned image. Caution when replacing the contact sensor When replacing the contact sensor, the CS LED light-on duration needs to be adjusted. Refer to page 3-6, 3.1 CS LED Lights-on Duration Adjustment, for details. Disassembly 11. Document separation roller (1) Perform Disassembly 1. and Disassembly 2, up to step (5). (2) Remove the cover (a), and the three tabs (b). (3) Bend the bushing with your finger and remove the separation roller and shaft together. (4) Take out the separation roller (e), from the shaft. NOTE ADF assembly • There is grease at both ends of the separation roller. If it gets wiped off, add an appropriate amount. • Take care not to scratch or soil (with grease) the ADF roller. Disassembly 10.
Contact sensor
(1) Perform Disassembly 1. and Disassembly 2, up to step (5).
(2) Remove the cover, a, and the three tabs (b).
(3) Remove the two screws (c).
(4) Remove the contact sensor (d).
Handling the contact sensor.
Be careful not to scratch or soil the glass surface of the contact sensor.
Any such
scratches or dirty marks may lead to image defects, such as vertical streaks, etc., on the
scanned image.
Caution when replacing the contact sensor
When replacing the contact sensor, the CS LED light-on duration needs to be adjusted.

page 3-6, 3.1 CS LED Lights-on Duration Adjustment,
for details.
Disassembly 11.
Document separation roller
(1) Perform Disassembly 1. and Disassembly 2, up to step (5).
(2) Remove the cover (a), and the three tabs (b).
(3) Bend the bushing with your finger and remove the separation roller and shaft together.
(4) Take out the separation roller (e), from the shaft.
ADF assembly
• There is grease at both ends of the separation roller.
If it gets wiped off, add an
appropriate amount.
• Take care not to scratch or soil (with grease) the ADF roller.
If the roller gets scratched
or soiled, it may adversely affect document feeding and cause document jams and
feeding failure.
