MultiPASS C755 Chapter 2: Assembly and Disassembly Disassembly 12. Document feed motor (1) Carry out Disassembly 1. and Disassembly 2., then take out the ADF assembly. (2) Remove the screw (a), and the earth plate (b). The plate has grease on it, so be careful not to get it on your hands or clothing. (3) Remove the two gears (c). Be careful of the grease. (4) Remove the document feeding motor cable and earth wire from the cable guide. (5) Remove the two screws (d), and then remove the motor and metal plate. (2) Remove all the cables attached to the PCNT board. (3) Remove the two screws (a). (4) Remove the PCNT board (b). NOTE Removal of screws When removing screws, you should use a short-handled screwdriver that will not interfere with the ASF unit. If you use a long-handled screwdriver, you may not be able to get at the screws easily, and may end up damaging the heads of the screws. PCNT board replacement The PCNT board EEPROM is for storing data on the volume of waste ink absorbed and vertical line displacement correction data. When replacing the PCNT, you should confirm the waste ink volume from the system dump list and make a note of it. Then, after you have replaced the board, enter this value and perform vertical line displacement correction. 2-16

Document feed motor
(1) Carry out Disassembly 1. and Disassembly 2., then take out the ADF assembly.
(2) Remove the screw (a), and the earth plate (b).
The plate has grease on it, so be careful not to get it on
your hands or clothing.
(3) Remove the two gears (c).
Be careful of the grease.
(4) Remove the document feeding motor cable and earth wire from the cable guide.
(5) Remove the two screws (d), and then remove the motor and metal plate.
(6) Remove the two screws (e), and take out the document feed motor (f).

PCNT board
(See Figure 2-15)
(1) Carry out Disassembly 1.
(2) Remove all the cables attached to the PCNT board.
(3) Remove the two screws (a).
(4) Remove the PCNT board (b).
Removal of screws
When removing screws, you should use a short-handled screwdriver that will not interfere
with the ASF unit.
If you use a long-handled screwdriver, you may not be able to get at
the screws easily, and may end up damaging the heads of the screws.
PCNT board replacement
The PCNT board EEPROM is for storing data on the volume of waste ink absorbed and
vertical line displacement correction data.
When replacing the PCNT, you should
confirm the waste ink volume from the system dump list and make a note of it.
Then,
after you have replaced the board, enter this value and perform vertical line displacement
