Switching Temporarily to Tone Dialing Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for their services. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarily for tone dialing: 1 Press FAX to set to Fax Mode. FAX 12/03/2001 15:30 Ex: F a x T e l STANDARD 2 Pick up the handset of your telephone. 3 Enter a destination using the numeric keys on your telephone or using a one-touch speed dialing key, coded speed dialing code, Redial/Pause key or the numeric keys on the machine. 4 When the recorded message of the information service answers, press T (Tone) to switch to tone dialing. TEL= T Ex: • When T (Tone) is pressed, T is displayed in the LCD. • If your telephone line uses tone dialing, go to the next step. 5 Use the numeric keys on the machine to enter the numbers requested by the information service. TEL= T34 Ex: • Numbers entered after pressing T (Tone) will be dialed using tone dialing. • After pressing T (Tone), you cannot use the numeric keys on the telephone. Use the numeric keys on the machine. 6 If you want to receive faxes, press Start. 7 Hang up to disconnect the call. • Tone dialing is canceled when you disconnect the call. 6-2

Many information services for banks, airline reservations, hotel reservations, etc., require tone dialing for their
services. If your machine is connected to a rotary pulse line, follow this procedure to set the machine temporarily
for tone dialing:

Press
FAX
to set to Fax Mode.
Ex:

Pick up the handset of your telephone.

Enter a destination using the numeric keys
on your telephone or using a one-touch
speed dialing key, coded speed dialing
code, Redial/Pause key or the numeric keys
on the machine.

information service answers, press
T
(Tone)
to switch to tone dialing.
Ex:
• When

Use the numeric keys on the machine to
enter the numbers requested by the
information service.
Ex:
