Tools Menu The Tools menu in Computer Setup includes the following options: s Set Defaults-reestablishes the factory default settings. s Resource Priorities-changes the priority of a resource type (IRQ, DMA, I/O address, and memory address). s Resolve Conflicts-attempts to resolve configuration conflicts. s Legacy-provides a way to add Legacy (ISA) devices that predate Plug and Play. Computer Checkup (TEST) Computer Checkup (TEST) determines whether the various computer components and devices are recognized by the system and functioning properly. You can display, print, and save the information generated by Computer Checkup. If you have a problem you cannot solve, run Computer Checkup before calling technical support. Save the device list to a file and print or save the log of errors. Also run the View System Information (INSPECT) utility and print or save that information. Have the files or the printed information available when you call technical support. To run Computer Checkup, follow these steps: 1. Connect AC power. (A low-battery condition could initiate Hibernation and interrupt the program.) 2. Turn on the external devices that you want to test. Connect the printer if you want to print the error messages log. 3. Turn on or restart the computer and press F10 as soon as the cursor appears near the upper-right corner of the screen. 4. Select Computer Checkup (TEST) from the Compaq Utilities menu. 5. Select the View Device List option. A list of the installed Compaq devices is displayed. Computer Checkup (TEST) determines whether the various
