Removing/Inserting Drives in the Computer MultiBay Removing a Drive from the Computer MultiBay IMPORTANT: Before handling a removable drive, be sure you have read the cautions under "Caring for Removable Drives" earlier in this chapter. To remove a drive from the MultiBay: 1. In Windows 95, save your work and shut down the computer to remove or insert a hard drive or a CD-ROM drive. Do not remove or insert any drive when the computer is in Hibernation. In Windows NT, shut down the computer to remove or insert a hard drive. You can remove or insert a diskette drive or a CD-ROM drive when the computer is on, in Suspend, or off. Do not remove or insert any drive when the computer is in Hibernation. 2. Tilt the computer up 1 to locate the MultiBay release latch and the notch underneath the outside edge of the MultiBay. 3. Grasp the edge of the drive at the notch. 4. Slide the MultiBay release latch toward the back of the computer 2 and pull the drive out of the MultiBay 3. Removing a Drive from the Computer MultiBay 5. Removing a Drive from the Computer MultiBay
IMPORTANT:
Before handling a removable drive, be sure you have
read the cautions under “Caring for Removable Drives” earlier in
this chapter.
To remove a drive from the MultiBay:
1. In Windows 95, save your work and shut down the computer
to remove or insert a hard drive or a CD-ROM drive. Do not
remove or insert any drive when the computer is in
Hibernation.
In Windows NT, shut down the computer to remove or insert a
hard drive. You can remove or insert a diskette drive or a
CD-ROM drive when the computer is on, in Suspend, or off.
Do not remove or insert any drive when the computer is in
Hibernation.
