Connecting the Modem in North America, Latin America, Japan, or Hong Kong If your computer has an RJ-11 modem jack on the right side of the computer, you will connect a standard telephone cable to that RJ-11 jack. (The 25-pin modem connector is for connecting the modem to a cellular phone in North America or to a wall jack in Europe or Australia.) NOTE: If you purchased the computer in Europe or Australia, it does not have an RJ-11 jack. It has only a 25-pin modem connector. Contact your Compaq authorized dealer, reseller, or service provider for information about purchasing an international modem cable for the country you are visiting. To connect the modem to a telephone wall jack in North America, Latin America, Japan, or Hong Kong: 1. Connect a standard telephone cable to the RJ-11 jack 1 on the right side of the computer. If your computer has an RJ-11 modem jack on the right side of the
computer, you will connect a standard telephone cable to that
