Image Panning or Expanding Image panning is automatically enabled when the Desktop Area setting is larger than the Resolution setting. The image pans to the larger desktop area when you move the onscreen pointer to the edges of the screen. Image centering/expanding is automatically enabled when the Desktop Area setting is smaller than the Resolution. The image can be toggled between centered (with a black border around it) or expanded (to fill the screen) by pressing the Fn+T hotkey or by selecting it on the Compaq tab. Dual Display Settings When in simultaneous mode, the computer's dual display technology (two graphics controllers) allows an external display resolution and/or refresh rate different from the fixed internal display settings. Before the external display settings can be changed, the Color Palette on the Settings tab must be set to 256 colors. When the external and internal displays have different resolution and/or refresh rate settings in simultaneous mode, the following conditions are true: s When the Desktop Area on the Settings tab is the same as the larger Resolution setting, panning is enabled on the display with the smaller setting. s When the Desktop Area on the Settings tab is the same as the smaller Resolution setting, centering/expanding is enabled on the display with the larger setting. s Optional Zoomed Video PC Cards cannot be used. s Hotkey popup windows will appear on only one screen, usually the internal display. larger desktop area when you move the onscreen pointer to the
edges of the screen.
Image centering/expanding is automatically enabled when the
Desktop Area setting is
