Security Antivirus Software When you use the computer for e-mail, network, or Internet access, you expose the computer to computer viruses. Computer viruses can disable your operating system, applications, or utilities or cause them to function abnormally. Antivirus software can detect most viruses, destroy them, and in most cases, repair damage they have caused. To protect your computer against viruses, it is recommended that you use antivirus software. To provide protection against newly discovered viruses, the antivirus software must be updated. Antivirus software is preinstalled on the computer. ■ The software includes free updates for a limited period of time. It is strongly recommended that you protect your computer against new viruses by purchasing extended update service. ■ Instructions for using and updating antivirus software and for purchasing extended update service are provided with the application. ■ To view and access the software preinstalled on your computer, select Start > All Programs. Antivirus Software

viruses can disable your operating system, applications, or
utilities or cause them to function abnormally. Antivirus software
can detect most viruses, destroy them, and in most cases, repair
