Sound and Speaker Problems Basic Checks: • If using external speakers: - Make sure that the speaker cables are firmly connected to the computer. - Test the electrical outlet: verify that the speakers are connected to a working electrical outlet. - Ensure that the speakers are turned on. • If using a sound card, make sure external audio devices are connected to the sound card's connectors and not to the microphone, line-out, or line-in connectors on the computer's front or back panels. • Adjust the volume. • Reinstall the audio driver for your operating system. • Check for interference: electrical appliances on the same circuit or operating in close proximity to the computer can cause interference. 168 Solving Problems
