Changing networking parameters from the control panel Note The EIO (enhanced input/output) submenu appears on the I/O menu only when an HP Jetdirect print server is installed. If the printer contains an HP Jetdirect print server, you can configure basic networking parameters using the EIO menu. Network printer administrators can also use HP Web Jetadmin or the embedded Web server to configure these and other parameters remotely. The items available on the menu vary depending on the particular print server that is installed. EIO menu This menu allows you to configure the networking parameters for the printer. To check the printer's current network settings, print a configuration page. See Understanding and printing the configuration page. Message CFG NETWORK TCP/IP IPX/SPX ATALK DLC/LLC CFG TCP/IP Value or Submenu NO YES ON OFF Description Selects whether or not you want to use the EIO Jetdirect menu items. You must change this option to YES each time you want to use the EIO Jetdirect menu. Selects whether to enable or disable a protocol. Select OFF to disable a protocol. NO Selects whether to use the TCP/IP menu and set the YES TCP/IP protocol parameters. In the TCP/IP menu, you can specify BOOTP=YES or DHCP=YES for TCP/IP parameters to be automatically configured by a BootP or DHCP server when the printer is turned on. If you specify BOOTP=NO and DHCP=NO, you can choose AUTO IP=YES to have a link-local address 169.254.x.x assigned automatically. If you specify BOOTP=NO, DHCP=NO, and AUTO IP=NO, you can manually set the following TCP/IP parameters from the control panel: z IP address (IP) z Subnet Mask (SM) z Syslog Server (LG) z Default Gateway (GW) z Idle Timeout period (default is 270 seconds; 0 disables the timeout) When setting IP numbers, press (Up Arrow button) to increase the number by 1. Changing networking parameters from the control panel
The EIO (enhanced input/output) submenu appears on the I/O menu only when an
HP Jetdirect print server is installed. If the printer contains an HP Jetdirect print server,
you can configure basic networking parameters using the EIO menu. Network printer
administrators can also use HP Web Jetadmin or the embedded Web server to configure
these and other parameters remotely.

This menu allows you to configure the networking parameters for the printer. To check the
