To return to the default settings, use the no form of this command. spanning-tree link-type {auto | point-to-point | shared} no spanning-tree link-type Syntax Description auto point-to-point shared Sets the link type based on the duplex setting of the interface. Specifies that the interface is a point-to-point link. Specifies that the interface is a shared medium. Command Default Link type set automatically based on the duplex setting. Usage Guidelines Fast transition (specified in IEEE 802.1w) functions only on point-to-point links between two bridges. By default, the switch derives the link type of a port from the duplex mode. A full-duplex port is considered as a point-to-point link while a half-duplex configuration is assumed to be on a shared link. Note On a Cisco Nexus 5000 Series switch, port duplex is not configurable.
