Lock pattern To set the lock pattern, touch Menu > Settings > Location & security > Set up screen lock. Follow the instructions to draw your lock pattern. When prompted, draw the pattern to unlock the phone. Passcode lock To set the passcode, touch Menu > Settings > Location & security > Set password. Enter password, then confirm it. When prompted, enter the password to unlock the phone. Forgot your pattern or passcode? If you forget your pattern or passcode, see your service provider. Remove the back cover and battery ("Assemble & charge" on page 3), then replace and switch your phone on as usual.
