The Setup Menu Format Memory/Format Card Press the d button M z tab (A13) M Format memory/Format card Format the internal memory or a memory card. Formatting permanently deletes all data in the internal memory or memory card. The deleted data cannot be recovered. Be sure to transfer important pictures to a computer before formatting. Formatting the Internal Memory To format the internal memory, remove the memory card from the camera. The Format memory option is displayed on the setup menu. Formatting Memory Cards When a memory card is inserted in the camera, the memory card can be formatted. The Format card option is displayed on the setup menu.
