The Basics of Shooting and Playback Preparation 3 Insert a Memory Card Removing Memory Cards Before opening the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover, turn the camera off and confirm that the poweron lamp and the monitor are off. Press the memory card in lightly with your finger (1) to partially eject it, and then pull it out straight (2). B High Temperature Caution The camera, battery, and memory card may be hot immediately after using the camera. Observe caution when removing the battery or memory card. Internal Memory and Memory Cards Camera data, including images and movies, can be saved in either the camera's internal memory (approximately 90 MB) or on a memory card. To use the camera's internal memory for shooting or playback, first remove the memory card. Approved Memory Cards The following Secure Digital (SD) memory cards have been tested and approved for use in this camera. • When recording a movie onto a memory card, a memory card with an SD speed class of Class 6 or higher is recommended. If the transfer speed of the card is slow, the movie recording may end unexpectedly.
