Flash Memory Drive 103 Some of the CF-19 contains the flash memory drive instead of a hard disk drive. (A hard disk drive is not mounted.) In the other chapter of this manual, replace "hard disk" and "hard disk drive" mentioned in this manual with "flash memory" and "flash memory drive". The procedure for inserting/removing the flash memory drive is same as the one of for the hard disk drive ( page 101). NOTE [Hard Disk] displayed on [Information] Menu of the Setup Utility refers to the flash memory ( page 106). [Hard Disk Lock] displayed on [Security] Menu of the Setup Utility restricts read/write operation for the flash memory data ( page 113). The flash memory is self-diagnosed as "Hard disk" ( page 118). Disabling the function which automatically records the management information history Reducing the number of writing times is effective to extend life of the flash memory disk. It is recommended that you disable the function which automatically records the management information history. Perform the steps below to disable this function. A Log on to Windows as an Administrator. B Click (Start)*1 - [All Programs] - [Panasonic] - [PC Information Viewer] - [PC Information Viewer] C Add the check mark for [Disable the automatic save function for management information history] in [Hard Disk Status]. • To restore the original settings, remove the check mark from [Disable the automatic save function for management information history].
