4-Pin and 6-Pin Connectors
Two different types of connectors are used for IEEE1394 terminals and cables, a 4-pin and
a 6-pin.
The 4-pin connector sends digital audio, digital video and digital
control signals to and from devices. The TV has two available 4-pin
connection jacks, of which two are at the back.
The 6-pin connector also sends digital audio, video and control
signals, but in addition, sends low voltage electrical power.
There are no 6 pin connectors on this TV.
It is not possible to directly connect a 6-pin connector to a 4-pin jack,
and vice versa. In order to connect a 6-pin device to a 4-pin device,
an adaptor or adaptor cable is required, easily purchased from an
electronic or computer store.
Connecting a 6-pin device (such as a camcorder) via an adapter to the TV, (if it is designed to
receive electrical power from another 6-pin device) will require that the camcorder be directly
connected to the AC supply, or that the camcorder’s battery power be used.
