TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Cause Remedy This unit does not operate properly. The internal microcomputer has been frozen by an external electric shock (such as lightning or excessive static electricity) or by a power supply with low voltage. Disconnect the power cable from the AC wall outlet and then plug it in again after about 30 seconds. "CHECK SP WIRES" appears in the front panel display. Speaker cables are short-circuited. Make sure all speaker cables are connected correctly. There is noise interference from digital or radio frequency equipment. This unit is too close to the digital or highfrequency equipment. Move this unit further away from such equipment. The picture is disturbed. The video source uses scrambled or encoded signals to prevent dubbing. This unit suddenly enters the standby mode. The internal temperature becomes too high and the overheat protection circuitry has been activated. Wait about 1 hour for this unit to cool down and then turn it back on. ■ Tuner See page - 14 - - Problem Cause Remedy FM stereo reception is noisy. The characteristics of FM stereo broadcasts may cause this problem when the transmitter is too far away or the antenna input is poor. Check the antenna connections. Try using a high-quality directional FM antenna. Use the manual tuning method. There is distortion, and There is multi-path interference. clear reception cannot be obtained even with a FM good FM antenna. Adjust the antenna position to eliminate multi-path interference. The desired station cannot be tuned into with the automatic tuning method. The signal is too weak. Use a high-quality directional FM antenna. Use the manual tuning method.
