PREPARATION FRONT terminals Connect front left and right speakers to these terminals. CENTER terminals Connect a center speaker to these terminals. SURROUND terminals Connect surround left and right speakers to these terminals. SURROUND BACK terminals Connect surround back left and right speakers to these terminals. Note When you use a surround back speaker, connect the speaker to the left SURROUND BACK terminal (SINGLE). PRESENCE terminals Connect presence left and right speakers to these terminals. SUBWOOFER jack Connect a subwoofer with a built-in amplifier (such as the YAMAHA Active Servo Processing Subwoofer System) to this jack. CONNECTIONS ■ Connecting the speaker cable 1 Remove approximately 10 mm (0.4 in) of insulation from the end of each speaker cable and then twist the exposed wires of the cable together to prevent short circuits. 10 mm (0.4 in) 2 Loosen the knob using the supplied speaker terminal wrench. CONNECTIONS
PREPARATION
FRONT terminals
Connect front left and right speakers to these terminals.
CENTER terminals
Connect a center speaker to these terminals.
SURROUND terminals
Connect surround left and right speakers to these
terminals.
SURROUND BACK terminals
Connect surround back left and right speakers to these
terminals.
When you use a surround back speaker, connect the speaker to the
left SURROUND BACK terminal (SINGLE).
PRESENCE terminals
Connect presence left and right speakers to these
terminals.
SUBWOOFER jack
Connect a subwoofer with a built-in amplifier (such as the
YAMAHA Active Servo Processing Subwoofer System)
to this jack.
Connecting the speaker cable

Remove approximately 10 mm (0.4 in) of
insulation from the end of each speaker
cable and then twist the exposed wires of the
cable together to prevent short circuits.

Loosen the knob using the supplied speaker
terminal wrench.

Insert one bare wire into the hole on the side
of each terminal.

Tighten the knob to secure the wire using the
supplied speaker terminal wrench.
