System Name Use these user definable fields to help identify your switch. Figure 26 System Name Screen System Time Click Administration, then System Time on the menu. This screen allows you to set the system time. You can set the Year, Month, Day, Hours, Minutes, and Seconds. Figure 27 System Time Screen Administration Settings 43 SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a communication protocol designed specifically for managing devices on a network. Equipment commonly managed with SNMP includes switches, routers and host computers. SNMP is typically used to configure these devices for proper operation in a network environment, as well as to monitor them to evaluate performance or detect potential problems. Click Administration, then SNMP on the menu. A screen appears with three tabs: ■ Setup ■ SNMP Add ■ SNMP Remove Setup Enable or disable the SNMP Agent Status. Figure 28 SNMP Setup Screen
