If no USB device is detected, the item shows None. Intel xHCI Mode [Smart Auto] [Smart Auto] Once the xHCI driver has been detected, the USB 3.0 mode will be supported during both POST and operating system. [Auto] xHCI controller will be enabled and run at USB 3.0 mode when the xHCI driver is installed in the operating system. [Enabled] Enables the xHCI controller. [Disabled] Disables the xHCI controller. xHCI Legacy Support [Enabled] [Disabled] The USB 3.0 devices can be used for the BIOS setup only and cannot be recognized in the boot devices list. [Enabled] Support USB 3.0 devices in legacy operating systems (OS). [Auto] The system will automatically detect the presence of USB 3.0 devices at startup. If any USB 3.0 device is detected, the xHCI legacy support will be enabled. EHCI Legacy Support [Enabled] [Disabled] The USB 2.0 devices can be used only for the BIOS setup only and cannot be recognized in the boot devices list. [Enabled] Support USB 2.0 devices in legacy operating systems (OS). [Auto] The system will automatically detect the presence of USB 2.0 devices at startup.
