(3) Close the ADF cover. MFC-8440/8840D/8840DN, DCP-8040/8045D/8045DN SERVICE MANUAL Fig. 2-5 3.1.2 Install the drum unit assembly (1) Open the front cover by pressing the front cover release button. (2) Unpack the drum unit assembly. Remove the protective part. (3) Rock it from side to side several times to distribute the toner evenly inside the assembly. Fig. 2-6 (4) Push the drum unit assembly into the machine (until it snaps into place). Fig. 2-7 (5) Close the front cover of the machine. 2-5
