9. STANDARD ADJUSTMENTS 8. Loosen the screw (4). 9. Insert a screwdriver into the notch in the side of the feed base, and turn the adjustment screw (5) to adjust. 10. After tightening the screw (4), measure the opening amounts once more. 11. Repeat steps 2 - 10 until the left and right cloth opening amounts are equal to each other. 0518B 9-22. Adjusting the upper thread feeding amount It is necessary for enough of an upper thread feeding amount to be maintained so that the amount of upper thread is sufficient for stitches to be formed accurately at the sewing start. NOTE: The thread take-up lever (1) operates at the same time as sewing ends, and it stops operating at the same time as the feed base starts moving when the start switch is pressed. More thread Less thread 1. Loosen the screw (2). 2. Move the thread take-up lever (1) up or down to adjust the upper thread feeding amount. 3.
