Increase Decrease 1. Adjust by turning the tension nut (1). 2. Turn the tension nut (2) (sub tension) to adjust so that the upper thread trailing length is about 35 mm. * When the tension nut (2) is turned clockwise, the upper thread trailing length will decrease, and when it is turned counterclockwise, the length will increase. 0442B 0443B 55 Adjust by turning the tension nut (3). The thread tension needs to be adjusted in accordance with the articles being sewn.

The upper thread tension given above is the tension when the upper thread is pulled out from the thread
path hole of the thread take-up lever, and the lower thread tension is when the lower thread is pulled out
from the needle hole in the throat plate.
<Upper thread tension adjustment>
1. Adjust by turning the tension nut (1).
2.
Turn the tension nut (2) (sub tension) to adjust so that the
upper thread trailing length is about 35 mm.

When the tension nut (2) is turned clockwise, the
upper thread trailing length will decrease, and when it
is turned counterclockwise, the length will increase.
<Lower thread tension adjustment>
Adjust by turning the tension nut (3).
