SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENT HOW TO REPLACE THE MOTION DRIVE BELTS ENGINE DRIVE BELT REMOVAL 1. Remove the mower housing. See the instructions on "How To Remove The Mower Housing". 2. Set the rear hitch on a 10 to 12 inch block. The block must be high enough to raise the rear whee! of off the ground (see Figure 34). 3. Remove the rear wheels. 4. Remove the idler pulley (see Figure 35). 5. Remove the bolt from the torque strap (see Figure 36). 6. Loosen the nuts from each side of the transmission (see Figure 37). Do not remove the nuts. Loosen until the nuts are at the top of the bolts. 7. Slip the rear of the motion drive belt over the drive pulley and out the front of the transmission. Then, pull the motion drive belt down between the belt guides and the stack pulley (see Figure 38). 8. To install, reverse the above steps. 9. Install the mower housing. See the instructions on "How To Install The Mower Housing". 10. Check the operation of the drive system. See "How To Check And Adjust The Clutch" and also "How To Adjust The Speed Control Lever". REMOVAL
1.
Remove the mower housing.
See the instructions
on "How To
Remove The Mower Housing".
2.
Set the
rear
hitch
on a
10 to
12
inch block.
The block must be
high enough
to raise the
rear whee! of off the
ground
(see
Figure 34).
3.
Remove
the
rear
wheels.
4.
Remove the idler
pulley
(see Figure 35).
5.
Remove the bolt from the torque
strap
(see Figure 36).
6.
Loosen
the nuts
from
each
side of the
transmission
(see
Figure 37). Do not remove the
nuts.
Loosen until the nuts
are
at the top of the bolts.
7.
Slip the rear of the
motion drive
belt over the
drive pulley
and
out the front of the transmission.
Then, pull the
motion
drive
belt down between the belt
guides
and the
stack pulley
(see
Figure 38).
8.
To install, reverse the above steps.
9.
Install
the
mower
housing.
See
the
instructions
on
"How
To
Install
The
Mower
Housing".
10.
Check
the
operation
of the
drive
system.
See
"How
To Check
And
Adjust
The
Clutch"
and
also
"How
To Adjust
The
Speed
Control
Lever".
