Recommended tools You need the following tools to perform the removal and installation procedures: • Phillips #1 screwdriver • Phillips #2 screwdriver • Torx #T15 screwdriver • 5mm hex nut screwdriver • Plastic scribe • Wrist grounding strap connected to the ground • ESD mat System cover Removing the system cover Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in Safety instructions. 2. Power off the system and all attached peripherals. 3. Disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals. 4. Place the system on a flat, stable surface. NOTE: Ensure that the lock on the side of the system cover is unlocked. Steps Lift the cover release latch and remove the system cover. Figure 9.
