C Notices This appendix includes safety instructions and other important information about your projector. Important Safety Instructions Follow these safety instructions when setting up and using the projector: ■ Do not look into the lens when the projector is on. The bright light can damage your eyes, and is especially dangerous for children and pets. ■ Do not place the projector on an unstable cart, stand, or table. ■ Do not operate the projector on its side, or while tilted to one side. Do not tilt the projector forward or back at a greater angle than that specified for vertical keystone correction (see page 106). ■ If the projector is mounted on a ceiling, it should be installed by qualified technicians using mounting hardware designed for use with this projector. If the projector is not installed correctly, the projector may fall from its ceiling mount. This could cause serious injury to anyone under the mount and could damage the projector. ■ If you use a ceiling mount and apply adhesives to the mount to prevent the screws from loosening, or if you use lubricants or oils on the projector, the projector case may crack and the projector may fall from its ceiling mount. This could cause serious injury to anyone under the mount and could damage the projector. When installing or adjusting a ceiling mount, do not use adhesives to prevent the screws from loosening and do not use oils or lubricants. ■ Do not stand on the projector or place heavy objects on it. ■ Do not use the projector where it may be exposed to rain, water, or excessive humidity. ■ Unplug the projector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth (or, for stubborn dirt or stains, a moist cloth that has been wrung dry) for cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners, or solvents such as alcohol, thinner, or benzine. 113

ceiling mount, do not use adhesives to prevent the screws from loosening
and do not use oils or lubricants.
Do not stand on the projector or place heavy objects on it.
Do not use the projector where it may be exposed to rain, water, or
