Integrated Autopilot 9.2 VERTICAL MODES Overview System Instruments Flight EIS CNS Interface GPS Navigation Flight Planning Hazard Avoidance NOTE: Glidepath (GP) Mode is available only in installations that include an external GPS navigation source (e.g. GTN or GNS Series). Glideslope (GS) Mode is available only in installations that include an external ILS receiver (e.g. SL30. GTN Series, or GNS Series). NOTE: Arming Glidepath (GP) Mode also arms GPS Mode, and arming Glideslope (GS) Mode also arms LOC Mode. Vertical Mode Pitch Hold Selected Altitude Capture Altitude Hold Vertical Speed Vertical Navigation VNAV Target Altitude Capture Glidepath Glideslope Description Holds the current aircraft pitch attitude; may be used to climb/ descend to the Selected Altitude Captures the Selected Altitude Holds current Altitude Reference Holds aircraft vertical speed; may be used to climb/descend to the Selected Altitude Captures and tracks the Vertical Navigation (VNAV) profile. Captures the Vertical Navigation (VNAV) Target Altitude Captures and tracks a WAAS approach glidepath Captures and tracks the ILS glideslope on approach Control (default) * AP ALT Softkey AP VS Softkey AP VNAV Softkey ** AP APPR Softkey Annunciation PIT ALTS ALT nnnnn ft VS nnnn fpm VNAV ALTV GP GS * ALTS is armed automatically when PIT or VS is active, and under VNAV when the Selected Altitude is to be captured instead of the VNAV Target Altitude. ** ALTV is armed automatically under VNAV when the VNAV Target Altitude is to be captured instead of the Selected Altitude.
