1. Go to the Color Center tab in the HP Utility for Windows, or to the Paper Preset Management group in the HP Utility for macOS. 2. Click Create Paper Preset under Windows, or the + icon under macOS. 3. Select a paper category from the drop-down menu. The paper category determines the amount of ink used and other basic printing parameters. For more information about the printing parameters, see Paper type is not in the driver, HP Utility, or front panel on page 149. 4. Enter your paper's name. TIP: The paper's commercial name is likely to be the most understandable for other users of the printer. 5. Select the appropriate settings: drying time, horizontal cutter, and so on. 6. Click Next or Done under Windows (depending on your printer model), Continue under macOS. 7. You will find the paper name in the Custom paper category in the front panel and HP Utility. If you have a Z9+ printer, you will be prompted to profile the paper. See Create your own profile (Z9+ only) on page 90. 8. To profile your paper, go to the section "Profile management" of the Color Center in the HP Utility. Choose the ICC profile name. Now that you have created the paper preset, you will be able to select the paper type from the front panel and from the driver under the Custom paper category. You can export the new paper preset to your computer and use it on other HP DesignJet Z series printers: ● Using the HP Utility: In the Color Center, click Paper Preset Management, select the paper preset, and click at the bottom of the page. Then follow the instructions on the screen. ● Using the Embedded Web Server: From the Paper tab, click Paper Management > Export Paper Preset. Select a paper preset and click the Export button. A OMS package with the paper preset will be downloaded. NOTE: This page shows only the custom paper presets that you can export. To install the preset on another printer, see To install a downloaded paper preset on page 36. Printing paper info Enable the Printing paper info option to record the printer's estimate of the remaining roll length, paper width and type.
