Turn the automatic horizontal cutter on and off To turn the printer's horizontal cutter on or off, go to the front panel and tap , then Default printing configuration > Cutter > Horizontal cutter, and change the cutter option. The default setting is On. IMPORTANT: When printing with HP Click, enable and disable the setting on the front panel. NOTE: If the cutter is turned off, it will not cut the paper between jobs, but it will continue to cut the paper on loading, unloading and switching between rolls. TIP: To cut roll paper while the automatic cutter is disabled, see Feed and cut the paper on page 38. Turn the automatic vertical trimmer on and off (Z6dr and Z9+dr only) If you have a Z6dr or Z9+dr printer, it has an embedded vertical trimmer that cuts the left and right edges of the paper. To turn the printer's vertical trimmer on or off, go to the front panel and tap , then Default printing configuration > Cutter > Vertical trimmer, and change the trimmer option. The default setting is On. IMPORTANT: When printing with HP Click, enable and disable the setting on the front panel. Use the take-up reel The take-up reel enables busy design professionals and print service providers to be more productive by maximising unattended printing-even overnight-and delivering neatly collected prints. The take-up reel can collect paper in two ways: face in and face out. Follow the assembly instructions to install the take-up reel assembly for use with the printer. The first time you use the take-up reel, activate it by tapping , then Output options, then , then Install accessory, then select Attach take-up reel on the take-up reel card. NOTE: On some paper types, such as banners, the take-up reel will work better if you remove the Variable Front Tension Kit. The removal of the kit will improve the final shape of the roll and avoid empty spaces between the turns. See Paper types tested with the take-up reel on page 46. Attach paper to the take-up reel 1. On the printer's front panel, tap , then Output options, then select Attach on the take-up reel card. Choose the roll to be used.
