2 FCArray Assistant Software Installation Software Preparation The HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM is run on the HP NetServer to create the diskette(s) used to install the FCArray Assistant software. After the diskettes are created, the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM is no longer needed. The diskette(s) are then used to install the FCArray Assistant software from within Windows NT 4.0, on both the managed server and the remote management workstation. • If this is the initial installation of the FCArray Assistant software, continue to the following section, "Check the Latest Versions." • If the FCArray Assistant installation diskette(s) have already been created, proceed to the section "Software Installation." NOTE The software installation procedures require administrator rights for both the server and the client. CAUTION Files for the FCArray Assistant software are decompressed during the installation procedure and then copied to the target drive. Simply copying the files to a hard disk will NOT result in a successful installation. NOTE The FCArray Assistant Server software component is only required on a managed server and not on a remote management workstation. However, the FCArray Assistant Client software should be installed on both a managed server and a remote management workstation. Check the Latest Versions To ensure you have the latest version of the software, obtain the current Status Report for your HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM. This report describes any 7

Software Preparation
The
HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM
is run on the HP NetServer to create the
diskette(s) used to install the FCArray Assistant software. After the diskettes are

HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM
is no longer needed. The
diskette(s) are then used to install the FCArray Assistant software from within
