A fast charge also occurs when the FCArray Controller card is powered on. Stop Recondition - This option button is used to stop a Recondition Battery in process. The Apply button must be selected to stop the Recondition Battery process. This option button is only armed (not grayed out, if the hardware allows it) when a Recondition Battery process is active. Apply - This button is used to apply (and save) the changes made to the Intelligent Battery Backup Unit dialog box. The Apply button is only armed (goes active and is not grayed out) when an Actions list item is selected. Cancel - Allows the user to exit the Intelligent BBU dialog box, but does not stop the current action. Running RAID Assistant RAID Assistant is the FCArray Assistant's "wizard" for the setup and configuration of new logical drives and disk arrays. RAID Assistant can operate in three modes: • Automatic Configuration - This operation mode is the simplest to use because it provides an auto configuration option with minimal input, which immediately configures all available drives into an optimal, RAID 5 configuration. • Assisted Configuration - This operation mode sets up a new array according to predefined parameters and asks the user questions to gather the key information necessary to build the array. • Manual Configuration - This operation mode provides more control over logical drive setup parameters, including LUN Mapping for RAID Controllers, if the configuration needs go beyond what Auto or Assisted Configuration offers. Use the Manual Configuration mode for the following items: ◊ Load balance logical drives across Dual-Active controllers (LUN Mapping) ◊ Expand an Existing Array (See the section "Special Features in Manual Configuration.") 62
