Chapter 4 Configuration 4. If the Expand Array button is gray and cannot be selected, one of the following conditions exist: a. There are no arrays to expand. b. All of the existing arrays have the maximum permissible number of drives. c. There are no un-configured drivers available. d. The FCArray Controllers are operating in a Dual-Active configuration. If the FCArray Controllers are operating in Dual-Active mode, you will need to temporarily operate in failover mode to expand an array. Use the Kill Partner and Relinquish Partner options from the Display Controller Information selection under the Administration menu. Refer to the section "Displaying Controller Information" and Figure 5-7 in Chapter 5. 5. Click the Expand Array button in the Manual Configuration dialog box. Select Expand Logical Drive or Add Logical Drive to move to the next screen. ◊ Expand Logical Drive (or Expand LUN) - This option increases the capacity of a single Logical Drive (or LUN) array by adding a drive or drives to the existing Logical Drive. The existing array can not be spanned or contain more than 7 physical drives and must contain only one logical drive. Data integrity is maintained during this process. 87
